First of all, love this family business! There's so much heart poured out in this place. The owner even sang for us! The food is delicious. Made fresh to order. The hainanese chicken rice is good, could use more flavor though. The curry chicken was delicious - my bowl was lacking chicken though. The mee goreng noodles were really salty. Favorite dish was the curry and roti. Same curry as the curry chicken with flaky roti. Lunch special is such a good deal.
I'm sad that we are just now finding Uncle Chin's. The roti canai was the best I've had. We tried 2 main dishes that were fabulous (Seafood Char Kuey Teow and the sizzling tofu). The flavors were all fabulous and the service was so friendly. The restaurant is BYOB. I can't wait to go back with a nice, cold bottle of wine to enjoy more dishes. I think we found the best Malaysian food in Katy!!
Food - I got the combo b they recommended - it's a very classic Malaysian Singaporean flavor. If you've been to Malaysia or Singapore it definitely reminds you of them! The combo comes with roasted hainanese chicken rice and stir fry flat noodles and satay. I personally would have liked the combo to be steamed hainanese rice with a different type of noodle dish but it's all good. Service - friendly owner who will come out and sing to you when he is feeling it! Ambiance - small cozy family run casual vibes
My first visit to Uncle Chin's Kitchen was very much worth the very long wait to receive my food. My mistake was to arrive at lunchtime and seated at the very last table available. The restaurant is very small with only eight tables with four chairs each. The singular host was also the cashier and busted the tables. She managed the roles effortlessly and gave us a great explanation of how the chef prepared each meal and that the time from order to delivery could be drawn out. The Roasted Hainanese Chicken and Rice was just damn good! I was also able to sample my guest's Curry Chicken and absolutely loved it. Uncle Chin's Kitchen has great food which I'll gladly return soon. However, I'll certainly pick an off peak time to avoid the wait.

This was the conversation that We got from the Owner himself, and He can also sing-- a great Entertainer while We were all enjoying the authentic Malaysian food culture that he shared with us-- Mr. Chin's true hardwork and his passion in cooking is reflected on every delicious dishes We ate ! -- Overall , it's done with " Love" in Mr. Chin's Home Kitchen! Heinanese chicken , roasted heinanese, chicken curry , the fried pork- everything is amazingly delicious, uniquely flavorful, tender and juicy! Thank You sooo much , Mr. Chin!
